International Track

The future of higher education is global and mobile, yet networked through technology. In this increasingly globalized world, many higher education institutions are actively involved in creating innovative programs for a global audience, and are using high level, sophisticated technology to provide access of such education to every corner of the world. Many higher education institutions at home and abroad are also actively engaged in the development and implementation of branch campuses or programs that cross national borders, hosting international delegations or forming international partnerships for professional education delivery. This dynamic environment sets the perfect background for innovative and unique proposals and presentation formats that collectively pave the pathway for the future of international higher education and truly symbolizes educational access beyond borders.

Presentations involving multiple organizations, as well as content which may be scaled or optimized by attendees from a wide range of institutions are strongly encouraged. In addition, innovative formats such as roundtable, a flipped classroom experience (utilizing prior member/attendee discussion on CORe), or a sessions comprised by a series of short presentations on various aspects of a topic are also sought.

Proposals for this track may include (but are not limited to) the following topics:

  • International aspects on online learning with special focus on Massive Open Online Courses for international students and the related business models
  • The role of social networks in international education
  • Insights into the challenges and benefits of working with foreign-government sponsored programs
  • International opportunities in Kazakhstan and Poland, two areas about which UPCEA members are actively seeking programming information
  • The role of professional, continuing, and online education units in the internationalization of their institutions
    • Making a case for pursuing international goals via professional, continuing, and online education units
    • Successful funding and/or administrative models
