Sustainability Track Excursions
Thursday, March 29, 2012
1:45 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Take advantage of our location in Portland to experience sustainability in practice. Because cities face unique challenges, UPCEA has partnered with First Stop Portland to help us understand first-hand how Portland has built tools for central city vitality, multi-modal transportation, resource land protection, and true community involvement. These excursions will enable you to experience the process of sustainability.
You can select to participate in one of the following excursions:

1. A Corridor Transition – focus on well-planned urban renewal.

2. Portland’s Maturing Steetcar Neighborhood – view green architecture in action.

3. SoWa: a High-Density Streetcar Neighborhood –study sustainable high-density urban living.

Excursions are open to all conference registrants, but are aligned with the Sustainability track
and limited to 25 participants per excursion.
