Megan Anderson

Megan Anderson is the Associate Director of Marketing for Extended University Programs (EUP) at Western Michigan University where she manages marketing planning and promotional efforts for a diverse portfolio of programs and services. In addition to leading project management for the unit, she serves as a brand manager and marketing expert for EUP. Megan has been employed at WMU for more than eight years, and her work has included media buying, marketing strategy, copywriting, e-marketing and analytics/assessment. 2014 marks her second year as Associate Chair, Networking and Communication, for the UPCEA Marketing, Enrollment and Student Services Network. A past presenter at the UPCEA Marketing Seminar, she holds a B.B.A. in Advertising, and an M.B.A. in Management, both from WMU.

Dan began his career in higher education in 2004 with a focus on undergraduate program marketing communications and quickly expanded to include graduate program marketing communications for Cal State East Bay. Throughout Dan’s tenure, he has served in multiple roles including Web Business Analyst and Communications Manager for the university’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department.

Dan holds a BS in business administration with concentrations in marketing and e-commerce marketing from California State University, East Bay and is passionate about marketing his alma mater.

Prior to OSU, Simona worked in public relations serving the second largest K-12 school district in Oregon. Her background is in PR, marketing, journalism and crisis communication. She holds a bachelor's in journalism from the University of Oregon, and a master's in strategic public relations from George Washington University.

Lisa Braverman

She has served as associate provost and dean of continuing and professional education at major colleges and universities throughout the NY metropolitan region. Throughout her career, she has provided pioneering leadership and successful growth strategies in distance, continuing and international education and strategic community/corporate partnerships.

As Associate Provost for Adult Programs and Outreach at Long Island University, one of the largest comprehensive private instructions of higher education in the US, she forged the design and growth of innovative new blended adult degree completion programs and strategic partnerships.

As Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at the SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology, Dr. Braverman developed international partnerships in Latin America and Southeast Asia, including an articulation with the Minister of Manpower in Singapore. She also spearheaded FIT’s first Center for Innovation Management, a dynamic leadership institute that assisted companies and CEOs with innovation and change.

In her role as Dean of Extended Education at NY Institute of Technology, Dr. Braverman served as CAO of NYIT’s Online Campus and led innovative improvement initiatives in distance education there. She also grew online enrollment and greatly enhanced student services and online pedagogy.

Dr. Braverman is a consultant and published author, with two journal articles on corporate education in JCHE and a chapter on the future of continuing higher education in a recent publication by Jossey Bass.  She holds a Ph.D. from New York University and is regularly invited to speak on topics such as innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education, corporate outreach, higher education leadership, executive education, strategic partnerships, international education and other topics essential to the field of continuing higher education.

Jim Fong

Jim Fong has more than twenty years working as a marketer and researcher in the higher education community. Prior to joining UPCEA’s Center for Research and Consulting, Jim worked as a higher education strategic marketing consultant and researcher for two firms and prior to that was the Director of Marketing, Research and Planning for Penn State Outreach. As a consultant, Jim worked with over a hundred different colleges and universities. While at Penn State, he was responsible for managing teams of marketing planners, competitive analysts, market researchers and enrollment management staff.

Jim continues to teach graduate and undergraduate marketing and research classes for, Penn State University, Duquesne University and Framingham State University.

Prior to his career in higher education, Jim worked as director of research for a large advertising and marketing agency in New England and director of analytics for what was the nineteenth largest global research company at the time.

Melinda has over 12 year’s experience in Higher Education, as she has served as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission and an Adjunct Journalism Professor, teaching early and advanced Event Planning for Public Relations.

Melinda currently serves as the Eastern Regional Coordinator of SIU Extended Campus for Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. She is responsible for recruitment, staff management, public relations, and student advocacy for 12 sites along the Eastern seaboard- from Groton, CT to Jacksonville, FL.

Melinda is a member of the Illinois Academic Advising Association, has served on the Board of Directors for Girls, Incorporated, has been a member of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the International Society of Event Specialist (ISES) as well as the inaugural committee of the Young Executives at the Town Point Club, Norfolk. Thomas C. Green, Ph.D.

Dr. Tom Green works as AACRAO’s Associate Executive Director and SEM.  Throughout his extensive career, Tom has worked with public and private institutions to reach their goals, and has led enrollment management efforts for six universities.  Before joining AACRAO, Tom served as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Eastern Michigan University.  He also served as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services at Seton Hall University, where he received his Ph.D. in Education Leadership, Management and Policy.  During his time there, Tom oversaw a number of offices including admissions, registrar, and financial aid.  In addition, student enrollment grew by 12 percent.  While at Newman University, Tom led academic advising, adult re-entry centers, admission, registrar, and financial aid offices and an increase in student enrollment by 54 percent.  Before becoming AACRAO’s Associate Executive Director and SEM, Tom was a former chair for their financial aid, enrollment management, and retention committees.

Richard Irwin

Dr. Irwin was recently appointed Interim Vice Provost, Academic Innovation & Support Services after serving as Associate Dean for University College since 2010.  In his previous capacity Irwin has been responsible for reinvigorating a number of prior learning assessment (PLA) functions most notably the College’s experiential learning credit program.  As Interim Vice Provost for Academic Innovation & Support Services one of Dr. Irwin’s major responsibilities will be to oversee the Center for Innovative in Teaching and Learning.  The center provides faculty and students with a variety of non-traditional opportunities for expanding delivery and acquisition of college-level knowledge and is comprised of the following units: Experiential Learning and Prior Learning, Off campus/Continuous Learning, and Instructional Technology.  Additionally, Irwin oversees the Center for International Programs and Services, the Fresh Connections Learning Communities, the Academic Counseling Center, the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services, the ACAD academic success seminars, and the Center for Athletic Academic Services,

Prior to her position at ACE, Mary developed Old Dominion University’s Experimental Learning program, as well as an interdisciplinary degree program geared toward adult learners. While at ACE, she has led several national projects focusing on mapping ACE credit recommendations. In addition, she has led other projects focusing on extra- institutional learning experiences to postsecondary credentials for adult learners and military veterans. As project director, she was the lead author for two reports and has published articles and presentations on prior learning assessment adult learning and lifelong learning trends.

Amy Lee

Matthew Liebhold

With 15 years of experience in Higher Ed and High Tech, Matthew brings a combination of a deep analytical grounding and a wide array of experiences to his role leading marketing and strategy for professional graduate programs at Northeastern University.  There, he drives marketing efforts in both digital and traditional channels across national branding, discipline-based, and degree-specific campaigns, all with the goal of driving both leads and enrollments.  

Prior to joining Northeastern University, Matthew founded and ran his own marketing and strategy consultancy, with clients ranging from Tufts University to Genzyme. His previous agency experience includes Digitas and Boathouse Group, where his clients included General Motors, Merrill Lynch, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He started his career on the technical side with Harvard University and software startup companies focused on monitoring, measuring, and analyzing internet traffic.

Matthew holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Mo McKenna

Mo McKenna joined InsideTrack as a Coach in 2010 and began working with both prospective and enrolled students. Since mid-2012 Mo has worked as a Campus Director specializing in partnerships that focus on adult and online learners. Mo enjoys partnering with university staff and faculty in order to improve the academic experience and educational outcomes for students. Prior to working in the field of higher education, Mo spent 10 years in the sustainable agriculture field as a farmer and researcher. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Sustainable Agriculture from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and a Master’s in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Rural Sociology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. For her Master’s thesis, she traveled to Mexico City and conducted case studies of families utilizing urban agriculture to address food insecurity and safety issues. After graduation, she went on to manage and number of small-scale vegetable farms. Mo’s career shift to higher education has been a fantastic change of pace. She is particularly motivated to support adult career changers as they pursue their educational goals.

Melita Mitchell

Stephanie Platteter

Stephanie Platteter, inaugural recipient of UPCEA's Dorothy Durkin Award for Strategic Innovation in Marketing and Enrollment Management, has a expertise in marketing leadership, strategic planning, CRM, and communications. Since joining the College in 2001,Platteter led the launch of a recruitment- and service-focused call center for which she now provides ongoing leadership. This unit now plays an integral role in the College’s enrollment management effort. And, as an advocate for data-driven decision-making and customer-centric strategies, she led the College’s development of customer relationship management (CRM) strategies and processes and the evaluation and implementation of a CRM system to support these processes.  Building on the strength of the College’s marketing efforts, a consolidated call center, and a robust CRM system, Platteter has implemented her vision for of a comprehensive enrollment management strategy that continues to optimize enrollments in College programs.

Platteter holds a M.B.A. and B.S. degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Lindsey Richardson

Lindsey Richardson is Director of Marketing at Northeastern University where she leads the team that generates awareness, demand and enrollment for over 70 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  At Northeastern, Lindsey has overseen the implementation of a new marketing strategy planning process in addition to creating and maintaining effective websites, online marketing strategies, lead generation and lead nurturing programs. Lindsey has a particular interest in how to reach targeted audiences and using data to make informed marketing decisions.  

Prior to joining Northeastern, Lindsey spent 12 years at Cengage Learning, a leading teaching, learning and research solutions company where she oversaw marketing for the Humanities and Social Sciences division as well as directed all marketing for the newly launched National Geographic partnership.  Lindsey holds a BA in International Business and Spanish at the University of Tennessee.

Kathleen Warner

Kathy Warner is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the Undergraduate School of University of Maryland University College.  She served as the assistant dean of Social, Behavioral, Natural and Mathematical Sciences from 2007 - 2012.  She joined UMUC in 2002 as the assistant director of science and was named the director of science in 2004.  During her tenure at UMUC, she has worked on university wide assessment of science literacy, new course and program design and served as the principal investigator on an NSF grant CCLI grant to construct a Virtual Chesapeake Bay Watershed Science Center.  She served as the co-investigator for a Next Generation Learning Challenges grant with the Open University of the United Kingdom and Anne Arundel Community College.  Prior to joining UMUC, she was research fellow at the Uniformed Services University.

Jennifer is an accomplished marketing professional – including multiple UPCEA awards – with a 15-year track record of exceeding targets in developing and spearheading innovative programs, marketing campaigns and events.
In 2013, she was tapped as Georgia Tech’s first-ever director of professional master’s programs, a growing area for the institution. She is assisting in the design and development of academic degree programs and working across academic, marketing and student services teams to grow concepts from infancy into long-term revenue-producing products.
