The UPCEA eDesign Collaborative (eDC) Network supports professionals working across the digital learning ecosystem by fostering community, connection, innovation, and professional growth. The Network includes professionals such as instructional designers, learning engineers, multimedia specialists, faculty developers, learning experience designers, academic technology leaders, and team managers.
The eDC promotes the strategic role of learning design, digital pedagogy, and learner experience in advancing institutional quality, learner success, digital accessibility, innovation, and meaningful educational engagement.
We especially welcome presentations that demonstrate cross-functional collaboration, partnerships across institutions or sectors, and approaches that can be adapted or scaled across diverse educational contexts—including undergraduate, graduate, professional, workforce, noncredit, and emerging credential environments.
Proposals for this track are encouraged to focus on (but are not limited to) the following topics:
Designing engaging, inclusive, accessible, and learner-centered learning environments across modalities
Learner experience design (LXD/LDX), human-centered design, and strategies that strengthen student engagement, belonging, and success
Ethical and effective uses of generative AI in course design, teaching, assessment, and learner support
Faculty development and collaborative partnerships that advance digital pedagogy and instructional innovation
Data-informed course improvement, quality assurance, course review practices, and alignment with accreditation expectations
Designing flexible, skills-oriented, and workforce-aligned learning experiences, credentials, and pathways
Open educational practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and scalable approaches that expand access, affordability, and learning opportunities
Emerging technologies and innovative practices that enhance teaching, learning, resilience, and continuity in digital education
Sessions that demonstrate measurable impact on learner outcomes, engagement, persistence, accessibility, or educational quality are especially encouraged.
