Confronting the Changing Landscape of Online Education
Online Administration | Strategic | Coronado EFG
Online education has typically been nestled within distance education at most non-profit, state schools  however over the past decade we have seen it become part of the broader academic portfolio. This, coupled with the move away from OPM’s  has put pressure on institutions to rethink their business models for fully online education.  How do online programs begin to operate more like auxiliary enterprises (bookstores, food service)  while being fully integrated in the institution? Many institutions moved into online education as a way to both increase access and also revenue and this relied on an organizational structure that was more independent from institutional operations.  As online programs become more integrated, how do they leverage this integrated model of enrollment, curricular delivery and support while building a sustainable business model that recognizes the unique needs of online programs. More than other academic programs, online operates in a market-driven environment, requiring quick, smart investments while simultaneously carrying some risk.

Enable Your Independence: Online Program Management that Keeps You In Control
Marketing, Enrollment, & Student Success | Strategic | Yucatan
Regardless of the good or bad experiences associated with the remote learning of the pandemic, nearly every student in America has now taken online classes, and a recent RNL survey of prospective graduate students indicates that less than 10 percent are less likely to consider online than before the pandemic. Meanwhile, thousands of returning adults were forced to experience a format that probably always would have been more convenient for them. All to say that online education is a corner stone of American higher education, and you can’t afford to give away half your revenue to a traditional OPM firm for the next decade just to get into the game. While many schools worry about the cost of mounting and marketing online programs – which often leads to the revenue share agreements that no one likes, one of the unavoidable results of the pandemic is that no school can afford to not learn, master, and perfect how to create online programs, market them effectively, and enroll students. In this session, we will provide an overview of the how to position yourself for this “new normal.”  We will discuss what institutions need to be able to do themselves, what they can find a partner for – without losing the ownership and control they need, and how they can leverage the expertise and experience that can be found on any college campus in the country.
