Georgia Tech, Arizona State University, University of Washington, and Western Governors University have all focused resources on the design and scalable delivery of digital teaching and learning models to increase student success and reduce barriers to higher education. As indicated by the media attention their efforts have garnered, the potential of large scale courses available to anyone anywhere at a low cost or for free is an urgent priority for meeting national goals for educational attainment and economic competitiveness. This track will highlight various models and the critical elements needed for success, along with lessons learned by the leaders at notable institutions across the country.
The track is comprised of six concurrent sessions and a post-conference experience for teams. Over the course of two days, participants will have an opportunity to peek behind the curtain at GT, ASU, UW, and WGU to learn more about their approaches to programs at scale. The track will wrap up at the Roundtable, UPCEA’s annual convening of chief online learning officers (COLOs) and institutional representatives (IRs). While the Roundtable has been open to only those individuals in the past, this year’s Roundtable is open to all COLOs and/or IRs as well as team members in attendance at the Summit. The Roundtable will be both summative and reflective - where leaders will share their lessons learned and begin building their own institutional strategies for scaling programs.
Institutional Reps and Chief Online Learning Officers can expect to receive a separate email soliciting the names of the team members that will be joining them at the Roundtable. Please note, all Roundtable attendees must be registered for the 2018 Summit to participate.
