UPCEA Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar 2017 Service Project – Horton’s Kids

This year, the Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar Planning Committee wanted to do something to give back to the community as a service project. After looking at various opportunities, Horton’s Kids resonated with us deeply. Whether you are a staff member, faculty member, or an executive at a college or university; obtaining an education is the key outcome that we want for our families, children and students. Throughout the seminar this year, we will be asking for any type of donations – coats, hats, gloves, books, and/or monetary. We will have a member of the Horton’s Kids staff at the seminar to answer questions, network and receive the donation.

Horton’s Kids –

Horton’s Kids empowers children growing up in one of DC’s must violent, under-resourced communities so that they graduate from high school ready for college, career, and life. In the neighborhood Horton’s Kids serves, almost all families earn less than $10,000 per year, and only 19% of adults have a high school diploma. Through comprehensive academic, youth development, and health and basic needs programs, we have achieved incredible outcomes: in fact, children in Horton’s Kids are more than twice as likely to graduate from high school.
