Leadership and Strategy Track

As the higher education landscape continues its monumental shift, leaders of professional, continuing, and online education organizations find themselves at a watershed point.  The unprecedented moment for continuing educators to provide vision, leadership, and strategy to our institutions, clients, and students should be viewed as not only an opportunity but also a responsibility. The Leadership and Strategy Track will explore and debate authoritative and collaborative rapid-implementation strategies for leading institutional responses to the new educational paradigm.  Leveraging Miami’s unique role as a hinge between the U.S. and Latin America, proposals are also sought which highlight programs or activities that involve Latin American themes or collaborations with Latin American partners.

Proposals for this track might include (but are not limited to) the following topics:

  • Organizational Models: What are the innovative and groundbreaking organizational models that position continuing education to lead across the institution?
  • Rapid Strategic Planning: How can continuing education organizations perform both rapid and effective strategic planning?
  • Partners in Leadership: Who are our influential (and unexpected) institutional or corporate partners in professional, continuing, and online education?
  • Integration of Professional and Continuing Education with the home institution: How is your organization achieving integrative leadership and managing the blurred distinctions so as to increase value to your home institution?
  • Leadership Development: What are examples of ongoing, quality leadership training and development for the 21st century?
  • Leading within the 21st Century University: How can leadership skills be honed to optimize idea generation and foster a culture of innovation within our units? How might leadership become more transformative through the use of innovation, inviting and promoting positive change, and how might this increase the value proposition to Higher Ed?
