The Future is Here
In 1915, members of UPCEA Central Region met in Madison, WI to connect with other professionals, share their challenges and successes, and discuss what the future held for continuing education. The future they discussed could not have possibly encapsulated the trials and joys that members of our profession have experienced since then.

To celebrate, UPCEA Central Region is once again returning to Madison, WI to continue the tradition that was started 100 years ago. Our membership faces a new set of challenges, which will be faced with the same planning, teamwork, innovation, and commitment to delivering high-quality professional, continuing, and online education that UPCEA members have exemplified for a century.

Tackling the Next 100 Years
The UPCEA Central Region Conference remains committed to helping our membership address key issues in professional, continuing, and online education.

Areas of discussion may include:

Data-driven decision-making
State authorization
Organizational structures
Competency-based education
Noncredit and conference services
Partnerships
Alternative forms of earning or awarding credit

This year’s conference will include a series of sessions by futurists that will focus what’s next for higher education, with a special emphasis on the centennial celebration.

Returning to Madison
Professional development doesn’t just happen in the classroom, as we know. Take advantage of Madison’s more than 250 parks and five lakes, and see why this community is considered one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation. After exploring the great outdoors, check out some of Madison’s locally sourced restaurants and craft beverages. You’ll understand why National Geographic named Madison one of the “Top 10 Happiest Cities in the World.”
